Don't Cheat

Without getting into the fine points of the distinction between a writer and a storyteller, a concept I’ve never really thought about, let me say that I am unalterably opposed to scenes that “cheat.” For me, it’s impossible to go from A to C, without the information contained in B, as a writer and as a member of the audience. Once a story springs a logic leak, I can never invest any interest in what follows.
